From clinic bookings to founding my own thriving secretarial business, my journey into the world of medical administration started with a maternity cover and grew into a passion.

With no prior training in audio typing or medical terminology, I stepped into the role of a medical secretary. I quickly found my stride, fuelled by curiosity, adaptability, and consistent positive feedback from consultants and colleagues alike.

What started as 16 hours a week and 3 small practices became a full-time business — Stott Secretarial Services — supporting 12+ consultants across specialities. I’ve worked in hospitals since age 16, built a vast professional network, and developed a deep understanding of the inner workings of private practice, medico-legal services, and practice growth.

I also co-founded and ran a private day nursery, gaining hands-on experience in business ownership, people management, and navigating complex regulatory change, all of which continue to shape how I support clients today.

Life’s twists (including divorce and the pandemic) didn’t stop me - they refined me. I returned to medical secretarial work stronger, wiser, and more grounded in my values.

Today, I offer expert virtual support to consultants, medico-legal professionals, and practice owners who need a calm, capable presence behind the scenes. I manage complex diaries, handle sensitive communications, streamline finances, and provide clarity when things feel chaotic. I’m often the link that holds the whole operation together.

And when I’m not doing that? I’m in the garden, baking, playing piano, or riding my motorbike, always looking for a new challenge.
